The new GCK-01
GCK-01

This Geiger counter outputs audible click and will blink a LED with each radioactive particle it detects. In addition it has two digital outputs that may be connected to a number of accessory instruments; a data logger, Digital Meter adaptor that outputs an approximate radiation level, RS-232 adaptor to plot radioactivity on a PC, and true random number generator.

Using the analog meter adaptor, the geiger counter can approximate 3 radiation ranges: 0 to 1 mR/hr, 0-10 mR/hr and 0-100 mR/hr (or 55 mR/hr depending upon GM tube selected). If that isn't enough the Geiger counter is compatible to the Radiation Network software.

Digital Output -- Provides a TTL logic pulse each time a radioactive particle is detected. Used to connected to various digital adapters:

Digital Meter Adapter -- Turns our analog into a accurate digital geiger counter

Geiger Counter Kit GCK-01:

  • Printed Circuit Board
  • GM Tube ( on GCK-01-1, GCK-01-2, GCK-01-6, but not GCK-01*)
  • All electronic components

  Alpha Particle Spark Detector

This detector utilizes thin negatively-charged wires that are strung through the air above a planar anode. When strongly ionizing radiation like alpha particles pass through the area between the wires and the anode sparking occurs.

Note: this is only sensitive to Alpha (α) particle radiation. Beta (β) and Gamma (γ) radiation will not trigger a spark.

Kirlian Photography 2nd edition Kickstarter Project Revamped For Publication in 2012

New Kirlian Photography BookHello, In this issue I am trying something new. I have a project underway with Kickstarter.com to fund writing a 2nd edition of my book on Kirlian photography. I would appreciate you giving it a look over, and if you find it exciting, support it, or if not perhaps pass the information along to someone you know who may find this project interesting.

In this proposed 2nd edition of the Kirlian photography book is a complete rewriting and updating of detailed information for shooting Kirlian photographs.

The book will guide readers to shoot Kirlian photographs, using both digital cameras and film. Whether you're a beginner with no photography experience or an experienced pro, you will find the instructional information to shoot brilliant Kirlian photographs.

The book will include step-by-step instructions for building a variety of DIY Kirlian photography devices and accessories.

The Kirlian devices also have the ability to shoot real time Kirlian video.

The book provides the history of electro photography and it historical account of its potential applications in medicine, industry, and the military.

Support will fund the equipment to search for evidence of the "phantom leaf" phenomena that continues to be a point of controversy between scientists and Kirlian photographers. The core equipment for this search is an astronomical CCD camera, typically used to image faint starts and galaxies.

Publication Date - 2012
