Geiger Counter Kits General Information.
All our DIY kits have a digital TTL pulse output that may interfaced to micro controllers, PC's and other devices. The TTL output is compatible with the ADM-01 Analog/Digital meter, and the Digital Meter Adapter DMAD. All kits may be powered with a DC or AC voltage between 6 and 12 volts. Typically power is supplied with a 9V DC transistor battery.
Geiger Muller Tube options:
The DIY kits may be purchased with a Geiger Muller (GM) tube or without a Geiger Muller tube. So if you currently own a GM tube that has an operating voltage of 400 or 500 volts DC, you may use your GM tube with our kit. On the other hand, if you purchase a Geiger Counter kit with a GM tube you have the option of choosing your kit with one of three standard GM tubes we stock. Each GM tube has its own specifications and applications.
The GMT-01 Geiger Counter Tube is our stock number for the LND712. This GM tube can detect and measure alpha, beta, x-ray and gamma radiation.
The GMT-02 Geiger Counter Tube is a glass tube with a larger volume than the GMT-01 and GMT-06.This tube can detect and measure beta, x-ray and gamma radiation.
The GMT-06 Geiger Counter Tube is a small glass tube with a small volume. This tube can detect and measure beta, x-ray and gamma radiation. Due to its small volume it is not as sensitive as the GMT-01 or GMT-02 GM tubes

GCK-01 Series of Analog Geiger Counter Kits
Are used for detecting radioactivity and performing nuclear experiments. The GCK-01 model has numerous customizable options and comes as a ready to build kit or may be purchased assembled and tested. This series of Geiger Counters have Digital Pulse Output Port, External Power Supply Port and Headphone Jack. Primary indicators are an audio click and an LED blink each time a radioactive particle is detected.
The GMT-01, detects alpha, beta, and gamma radiation.
The GMT-02 & GMT-06 detect beta and gamma radiation.

The GCK-01 series features:
- Digital Output Port - Provides a TTL logic pulse each time a radioactive particle is detected. Used to connect various digital adapters, like our DMAD Digital Meter Adapter, which turns our analog into an accurate digital Geiger counter.
- External Power Jack - 2.5mm power jack for external power.
- Headphone Jack
- This Geiger counter when paired with a DMAD is compatible with our Radiation graphing and monitoring software.
While the Geiger counter is on (powered), the bare PC board contains exposed high voltage components. Even when the circuit is turned off (power is removed) the capacitors still may hold a high voltage charge.A project box or case is recommended and available for separate purchase based on the option chosen for your kit.

This Geiger counter outputs audible click and will blink a LED with each radioactive particle it detects. In addition it has two digital outputs that may be connected to a number of accessory instruments; a data logger, Digital Meter adaptor that outputs an approximate radiation level, RS-232 adaptor to plot radioactivity on a PC, and true random number generator.
Using the analog meter adaptor, the geiger counter can approximate 3 radiation ranges: 0 to 1 mR/hr, 0-10 mR/hr and 0-100 mR/hr (or 55 mR/hr depending upon GM tube selected). This Geiger counter when paired with a DMAD is compatible with our Radiation graphing and monitoring software.
Digital Output -- Provides two buffered TTL logic pulse each time a radioactive particle is detected. Used to connected to various digital adapters: The Counts Per Second (CPS) has been measured in excess of 5000 CPS.

This USB event data logger is a useful accessory that can record the readings on your geiger counter and store them for analysis on your computer.
Digital Meter Adapter for Analog Geiger Counters
The Digital Meter Adapter is a expansion module for analog Geiger counters that adds many features to your analog Geiger counter. The DMAD reads positive +5V pulses from an analog Geiger counter. It counts each pulse that represents a radioactive particle detection. The pulse counter has two selectable time periods; a one second time period for Counts Per Second (CPS) and a sixty second time period for Counts Per Minute (CPM). Another function is Random Number Generator. This allows each radioactive particle detected to generate a true random number. The last feature is a serial output that when used in conjunction with an optional TTL/USB Cable output the count data to a Windows Program. The DMAD has the three most popular functionalities in one module to enhance the capabilities of analog Geiger Counters.
